My wife the teacher and my kids are getting ready to go back to school. To me that means Autumn and time for cider pressing! Yes, it’s time to check your cider inventory and let me know how much juice you need. I’ll be taking advance orders at the August meeting and hopefully have a date in hand. I’m going to try and get an earlier date in October so we might have some different varieties of apples from which to choose.
Cider is one of the easiest (and most satisfying) fermented beverages to make. One can start out with just a simple carboy of juice and the wild yeasts in it and make an award winning cider. I hope some of our new members will join in on what has become a TRASH tradition.
