The Tomino’s Go WHOLE HOG!

Posted in

This delectable creature was but a part of the bounty enjoyed by TRASHers at Don and Pam Tomino’s annual July meeting (you can check out some of the other fun in the following pages). If you went home hungry (or thirsty) after this meeting it was your own darn fault!

In addition to the great food there was plenty of homebrew flowing. Chris Meta brought along his “XPA” as well as a vertical tasting of TRASH’s bourbon barrel aged Belgian Dark Strong Ale. Corny kegs were drawn off the barrel at set intervals to gauge the effect of the barrel aging had on the taste of the beer. Armand Houle offered his Big Brew Cheswick Bitter clone and a Robust Porter. Host Don Tomino had a tasty cherry ale on his tap system. Keith Kost
brought along his Black Witbier and an IPA.

The business portion of the meeting welcomed new members John King, Shawn Gentry, and Chris Bell (if I missed someone please let me know!). Dates and locations for the August meeting, September picnic and October meeting were set. TRUB’s “Brewing Up A Cure” and Construction Junction’s “Steel City Big Pour” were also discussed. See “Fermenting Events” to the left here and the rest of the newsletter for more details on these events. A proposal
was bought up to raise the meeting fees. Like everyting else the costs that the bars and restaurants charge charge us for food has gone up. This will be voted on at the August meeting. PLAN ON ATTENDING IF YOU WISH TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE!

Raffle/Picnic Czar Peter Kozlowski had a treasure trove of prizes to win. This humble editor walked away with a nifty beer glass and a four pack to go with it! Our own Bob Joseph also had a load of “Trunk Treasures” available.
