Craft Meetings at the CLO Caberet

Posted in

Hey all. Was wondering if any of you plan on attending the Jan 20th meeting for the Craft CLO tastings. If you havent been to one they are awesome and taught by our very own Tony. He said that the one in January is featuring a winter beer selection. I think I may be heading down there and was just wondering if anyone else is planning to go. tickets are $25 bucks and they pair a food course with each beer you try. Lemme know!

Marta,

This sounds cool, but I still don't think I'm going to make it. However, I am thinking of checking this event out. Its with the Pittsburgh Beer Society, which is kinda like the Cabaret thing, but at D's instead of a Cabaret. And Tony is not there to inform you as to what your pallate should be tasting. Still its a good beer sampling.

Meeting #34 - 2nd Anniversary!!

D's Six Pax and Dogz

It is more than likely that I will be there.

Feel free to read this description of the event below, its long and rambling but basically says that they will have awesome beers to sample.

Okay, we're ready. Sorry for the delays these last few weeks, folks. But when you're planning a party this big in a space as small as the dining room at D's, there are going to be a slew of logistical quandaries to work through. The bad news is, we didn't get the pyrotechnics permit, so the Pittsburgh Beer Society 2nd Anniversary fireworks display had to be canned. Also, the live music portion of the evening was scrapped when George Clinton wouldn't return our phone calls, and someone quite astutely pointed out that our next option, Muddy Waters, has been dead since 1983.

Rest assured, clubberists y clubberistas, none of this will stop us from throwing the most bitchin' Beer Club party you've ever seen. The tasting menu for the evening will include some things we guarantee you've never tried before, a few old PBS favorites, some domestic, some imported, and even possibly a special treat from the Great Beer Archive at D's. No theme for the menu, except that it's all beer and it's all delicious.

We'll be raffling off big bottles, gift cards -- maybe we'll even pick up your tab, mow your lawn and do your taxes. There's really no telling what's going to happen. Maybe Nikki and Kate will stand on a table and make out! Maybe Dave Katz will show up dressed as a gorilla in a powder blue tux! Maybe Phil will even show up to deliver one of his trademark toasts, hearkening back to the club's early days. Quite frankly, we don't know -- we're not doctors. But we're showing up with high expectations, and we hope you will, too.
