The Pgh Brewmasters Club holds meetings every third wednesday at the Sharp Edge Creekhouse. They are a group of people who are interested in different beers and they hold tastings throughout the year.
We have set up to host a Commercial vs. Homebrew beer tasting with them tentatively set up for June.
We are looking for 4-5 volunteers to donate their keg brews, we are looking for different varieties. I think Pete is donating for this one, so that leave 3-4 more people. Let us know! If you want to check out their website heres the link- http://www.pghbrewmasters.com/
Other news-
The Third Annual Millvale Brew Festival has contacted TRASH and asked if we would like to be involved in their festival this year. We are just trying to get an idea what you guys think about it, and how many peeps would be interested. here is some of the info, and I posted a link that gave a review about past festivals to get an idea. Let us know what your thoughts are!
"THIRD ANNUAL MILLVALE BREW FESTIVAL
August 15, 2009
On behalf of the non-profit Millvale Borough Development Corporation
(MBDC) and Millvale Main Street Program, you are invited to participate in
the third Annual Millvale Brew Festival. This years’ festival will take
place Saturday, August 15, 2009, featuring two sessions, 1-4 PM and 5-8 PM
at the scenic Millvale Riverfront Park.
Each participating brewery will receive one complimentary hotel room for
Saturday night (if requested) and tickets for staff members working your
booth. Additional tickets can be purchased for $20. The event is a primary
fundraiser for Millvale MainStreet and the MBDC, monies raised will be used
to help stabilize, revitalize and rejuvenate Millvale’s neighborhoods,
through the development of housing, and businesses.
The Fest format can host 45 breweries; we hope that you will join us for
this fantastic event. As we can only host 45 breweries space is limited and
will be filled on a first come first serve basis."

I should have some beer for each event, as well.

Count me in, too....
I'd like to have my beer considered to be a contender in this Commercial vs. Homebrew "throwdown" as well, provided I have a worthy batch ready. This 'contest' may have arisin from an idea that I proposed to Hart Johnson and Christine sometime last year at a Pgh Brewmasters tasting!!! I thought it would be neat to have a homebrew or two thrown in, unannounced, as part of her regular tastings, just to see what kind of response it would generate against the commercial stuff. Very interesting!!!............................................................Mike Moretti
I'm there...
You can count on me to have a few kegs for each event. I've worked the past two Millvale festivals representing Vecenies with Tony and managed to escape each time with out getting arrested! I'm going for the hat trick this year! Oh, and the Pgh Brewmasters Club looks to be a good time as well.

Still Happy, Still Healthy, Still Misbehaving!!!
Count me in
Count me in for a keg for the June event. I'll have to look at my schedule for August.

Thanks a lot for getting us involved in these two events. They sound pretty awesome. I will gladly give a keg for each. If we do the Millvale thing I'm not positive whether or not I will be able to go there and serve beer, but I will definitely donate some.
