Brew Free or Die Bitter...
Ingredients:
5 gal water
3.3 lbs. North Western Pils LME
3.3 lbs Pilsner DME
1 lb. crystal malt, 60° L
1.5 oz. Kent Goldings hops
1 oz. Fuggels hops
1 oz Cascade hops
1 pacs Safale US-04 yeast
1 teaspoon Irish Moss
¾ cup corn sugar for priming
Step by Step:
* Add grains (in bag) to 2 gals. cold water.
* Slowly bring to 160° F.
* Remove grains after 30 min
* Bring liquid to boil
* Add 3 lbs LME
* Add 1 oz Kent Goldings and .5 oz of Fuggles
* Boil for 30 minutes
* Add .5 oz Kent Goldings & .5 oz of Fuggles
*.Add 3 lbs of DME boil 10 min
* Add Irish Moss boil 10 min
* Add .5 oz Cascade last 5 min of Boil
* Total boil is 60 minutes.
* Remove from heat and cool.
* Add water to make 5 gals.
* Pitch yeast.
* Dry hop .5 oz Cascade
* Prime with corn sugar.
* Rack twice before kegging.
