Cascadian Dark Ale recipe

Hey I'm going to be making a Cascadian Dark Ale using a recipe in a recent issue of Zymurgy. This recipe calls for first wort hopping, as well as "sparge" hopping. I'm familiar with first wort hopping, but does anyone know what it means to add hops at the sparge? Isn't that basically first wort hopping? The recipe reads:

4.25 oz Columbus Pellet hops (sparge)
1.4 oz. Simcoe Pellet hops (first wort hop)
etc...

Huh?
