Holiday Party at Penn Brewery

Posted in

As announced at our last club meeting, it is once again time for our annual holiday party. This is a great opportunity for long-time members, newer members, and everyone in between to share an evening of good beer and German food from Penn Brewery. As with all of our events club members are welcome and encouraged to bring along reasonable number of guests.

Saturday, December 1 2012
4:00pm (dinner at 5:30pm)

Register or Buy Tickets Now!

If you plan on attending, you must either pre-register or purchase tickets prior to November 26 so that we have an accurate head count for Penn Brewery. The link above will take you to a page where you can choose either option. All members who pre-register will be expected to pay full ticket price at the door. Members and guests who do not register ahead of time will be charged an additional $5 up-charge at the door.

As with years past, there are a few activities associated with this event:

Commercial Bottle Exchange

To participate, wrap one or more bottles of commercial beer (not homebrew), and place them on the table designated at the event. Once all the beer is on the table, you'll have a chance to take home the same number of wrapped bottles that you brought. If you brought three, you can take three, etc. Be sure to wrap all of your bottles, and please don't open any of them at the party.

Share Your Homebrew

I'm sorry to report that the club is only permitted to bring two kegs this year. That means we'll have just one keg each from two pre-selected stewards. However, that shouldn't discourage anyone from bringing along samples of their beer. All members are encouraged to bring along bottles or growlers of homebrew so that you can pass out samples and maybe even get some feedback. We are not permitted to bring commercial beer to consume at the party.
